A Graveside Ceremony Celebrating the Life of Mr. Tate, Sr. will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Williamston, SC with Reverend Kynan Robinson, eulogist. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continuing Thursday from 9:00 am until 12:00 non at the Williamston location. William M. Tate, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Williamston, SC. He was a native of Abbeville, SC and the son of the late Albert and Ilean Hughes Tate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Tate; a son, William M. Tate, Jr.; brothers, Albert Tate and Thomas Tate; sisters, Betty Black, and a grandson, Keith, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories twelve children, Josie Leverette, Daisy Smith, John T. Tate, Iola Ballentine, Mary A. Daniels, James E. Tate, Sr., James R. Tate, Shirley Morrison, Nancy Turner, Pamela Mauldin, Steven R. Tate, and Patricia Tate; sixty-one grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; brother, James A. Tate; sisters, Connie Mattison and Sally Butler; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends. The family is at 208 Ellison Lake Road, Williamston, SC 29697.
