James Pressley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The Funeral Ceremony Celebrating the Life of Mr. Pressley will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson with Bishop Duane Greene, presiding and Bishop Marshall Isom, eulogist. Public viewing will be Monday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. James “Jimmy” Pressley was born on May 13, 1957 in Anderson, SC to Helen P. Patton and James Andrew Webster. Jimmy attended Anderson School District Five schools. In his early years, in addition to a love of football, Jimmy loved to spend time with one of his favorite people, his mother, helping her around the house and in the kitchen. Those formative years allowed him to develop a strong love for food and family. After high school, he joined the Army Reserves. Upon returning from Basic Training, he married Barbara Ann Pressley; their union spanned over four decades. For over 30 years, Jimmy worked in manufacturing. When he was not working, he enjoyed cooking, listening to R&B music and playing the occasional hand of spades. Jimmy transitioned from his earthly body to his spiritual one on October 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen P. Patton, father, James A. Webster, and a brother, Leo Pressley. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Pressley; sister, Paula Young, brother, Donnie Pressley (Geraldine); brother, Winifred Pressley, brother, Michael Pressley, and sister, Tammie Patton; sister-in-law, Shasta Boyd; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. The family is at 1034 Sand Palm Way, Anderson, SC 29621.
