Gregory L. Belton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gregory Leon Belton, age 57, of 1 Diamond Street, Anderson, South Carolina. He departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 and was born on February 19, 1964 to Thelma Lee Hunter and to the late Garfield Belton. ‘’Belton’’, as he was affectionately known received his educational experience at Anderson School District Three. He enjoyed Nascar racing, dancing, family and friends, gardening, helping others by providing shelter, food, clothes, and money. Belton, also enjoyed traveling with friends and his ‘’Busch Light.’’ Greg had a truly big heart. He was loved by many people for his generosity and his love for his family and community. Greg showed that agape love to all. He never met any strangers, and he was always open to different business ventures. In recent years, Greg was employed by Ambassador as a pipe fitter. He was preceded in death by his father, Garfield Belton; maternal grandparents, Mr. Eddie and Jannie Bell Martin; and two sisters, Wendy Martin and LaTasha Williams. He is leaves to cherish his precious and wonderful memories to his son, Gregory Chase (Jasmine) Carver of Anderson, SC; his daughter, Tabitha D. Cobb of Anderson, SC; his mother, Thelma Lee Hunter of Starr, SC; one loving sister, Gloria D, Martin of the home, Starr, SC; one brother, Keith (Bobby Jean) Moore of Abbeville, SC; three sisters, Janay (ReDale) Wilson of Jefferson, GA, Leeann Thomas of Anderson, SC, and Kathy (Samuel) Crawford of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, Kingston Carver, Jazmin Cobb, Zwayla Carver, Chyna Carver, Amiyah Carver, Taniyah Cobb, Noelle Cobb, and Kyrie Webb; two loving nephews raised in the home, Quentin L Martin, affectionately known as ‘’Black’’ and Travelus C. Martin, affectionately known as ‘’Skip’’; two nieces, Tamiko L. Martin, affectionately known as ‘’Hoot Cheese’’ and Zhamorra D. Martin affectionately known as ‘’Morra’’; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A Service of Love will be held to celebrate the life of Mr. Gregory Leon Belton on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson with Reverend Timothy Bookert and Reverend Michael Peppers, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Baptist Church, Abbeville, SC. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
