Gladys Turman

March 10, 1938 - April 3, 2022

Gladys passed peacefully from this life the morning of April 3rd ,2022 at 84 years old. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life. Gladys was born in Anderson, SC, but has lived in Starr-Iva for the majority of her life with husband Demon Turman. Gladys was a devoted mother and grandmother who was self-less until the very end of her life. She enjoyed cooking (her famous biscuits), shopping, and attending her church (Lifetime Member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Iva, SC). She was a spiritual woman and involved in many church activities, including singing and playing the piano during services. She will be deeply missed by all those she impacted including family, friends, bus riders, and all who knew her. She will forever be cherished by her four loving children, Meloney Turman, Brian Turman, Sheila Turman, and Aaretha Turman; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Hallie (stepmother Minnie Lee Belcher) and Pauline Belcher, and grandsons, Tavarius Turman (Vide), LaThomas Turman (Pop), and McKenzie Little. On Saturday, April the 9th, 2022, funeral service for Mrs. Turman will be held at 1:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson with Pastor Darrell Woods, as the eulogist and Evangelist Shelia Johnson as the presider for the funeral ceremony. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Anderson, SC. The public viewing to pay respects will be Friday, April the 8th, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continuing Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the mortuary.
