The family of Mrs. DuBose invite you to join them as they celebrate her life on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson with Rev. Mashon Nance as the eulogist. Interment will follow at Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson, SC. The public is invited to their respects to Mrs. DuBose starting on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continuing on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Girtha Bell was born to the late Rubin and Wilhelmina Brownlee on July 15, 1944. She was raised by her grandmother (late) ‘’Big Mommy and Granddaddy ‘’Big Daddy.’’ Girth Bell graduated from Westside High School in 1964. She was a licensed cosmetologist, where she worked in different beauty shops in Anderson. Girtha Bell finally realized her passion was taking care of the sick and shut-ins; so, there was where she stayed until retiring from AnMed Health Medical Center. Girtha Bell was a delightful person, one who never met a stranger. You always knew when she enter a room; for all eyes were on her, even though she was really small in stature, you always knew she was there. Girtha Bell love to travel and enjoyed life to the fullest. You always knew where she stood on any given subject and if you do not know she would let you know. Girtha Bell made many friends during her life, but she had three special friends, Doris Baskin, Mary Neeley, and Lillie Williford. Girtha Bell is survived by her son, Terrell DuBose of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Ishmel, raised in the home, Cameron, Porsha, and Brayana; several great-grandchildren; special nieces, Edna, Marie, and Debra of Boston, MA; nephew, uncle, and cousins of Ohio; daughter-in-law, Cathy DuBose; sister-in-law, Carrie Howard; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by Rubin and Wilhelmina Brownlee; her husband, Melvin DuBose; her son, Michael DuBose; sister, Bennie Lee Adger; brothers, Melvin and Claudus Williams; parents and grandparents. We, the family of the late Girtha Bell DuBose cannot begin to thank everyone for the acts of kindness shown to us during the passing of our dear loved one. It matters not how or under what circumstance each of us came to know Girtha Bell; what matters is that our lives are richer because we did. Your prayers are not going unanswered because we will be stronger with each growing day. May God bless you all. The family will at their respective homes.
