Claude ‘’Toady’’ Mattison, Jr.’s Story: His journey began on March 27, 1945 to the late Mr. Claude, Sr. and Mrs. Margaree Carter Mattison. Toady took flight to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his home. Toady attended Westside High School during his school years where he played baseball. He loved watching the LA Dodgers play. He also enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers and Clemson Tigers football. He enjoyed traveling and driving trucks. Toady worked for many years driving trucks until his retirement from Republica Waste Management years ago. Toady will always be remembered for being very real and very outspoken; also teasing everyone that he came into contact with. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Toady leaves to cherish fond memories and laughter with his best friend and wife, Delores Mattison; brother, Cecil (Josephine) Mattison; sisters, Diane Mattison and Janet Grant; his daughters, Natalie Mattress, Omega (Tim) Harrison, Erica Guy, Regina (Marcus) Clinkscales, and Sharon Gibert; his sons, Claude F. Mattison, Foster L. (Angela) Johnson, Tremayne (Malein) Hammond, Germaine Gaines, and Everett (Maxine) Gibert; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Toady was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Gibert and Anthony Trenton; brothers, James Walter, Earl Mattison, Rufus Mattison, and Bobby Joe Mattison; and sisters, Annie Ruth Mattison Randolph, Janice Mattison Oliver, and Margaret Gray. Toady will truly be missed! Toady leaves us with his favorite slogan: ‘’Shot the bear and killed the crow, Ole Toady Roady had to go!’’ With gratitude, our family is deeply appreciative of your love and support. We thank each of you for your prayers, calls, and your willingness to share with us during the homegoing of our loved one. May God continue to bless and keep you in His Loving Care.
